The Last of Us Movie Announcement

The Last of Us Movie Announcement

Comic-Con has surprised millions of people throughout the years who are fans of various pop culture from comics books to video games.  There was one particular announcement at Comic-Con 2014 where one of Playstation's popular games will have it's own movie on the big screen, The Last of Us.

The Last of Us has won multiple awards for its gameplay, story, character development, and many more that deserves an adaptation to a live-action movie.  However, there have been other video game series such as Super Mario Brothers, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and other video game series that were made into movies with mixed reviews from the fans and movie critics alike.

For anyone who has seen these movies, some of the movies mentioned above are somewhat different from their video game counterparts.  Since Hollywood is a main factor when it comes to big production movies, the video game movie adaptations from Hollywood aren't like the major box office movies.  There are many factors such as the movie company, budget, the writers, production deadline, and most of important of all, the actors/actresses portraying the video game characters.

In the end, can The Last of Us movie change the way video games are seen not just what the general public wants, but to show millions of fans of the video game that the movie adaptation can be successful; rather then joining the shadow of previous video games movies.

I love video games, especially the retro ones because I grew up playing those ones. A lot of memories and frustrations with some of the NES games, but it was fun enjoying those games. Video games are one of my passions because there are so many games out there that can be played and each one has a uniqueness to it.
