Wii U Mario Kart 8 Bundle Confirmed For Europe
The news many have been waiting for has been confirmed at last. While rumours of a Mario Kart 8 console bundle have been around for a while (and it surely seems like a no-brainer) we've had no official confirmation until now. First out of the gate is Nintendo Europe who have confirmed that a Mario Kart 8 Premium Wii U Bundle will launch alongside the game on May 30th 2014. Currently, no other territories have confirmed the bundle, but it would be a major missed opportunity if this turns out to be a Euro exclusive.
While Nintendo's latest home console has been under-performing since launch, the much anticipated release of the latest in the much-loved Mario Kart franchise should give it a much needed boost (ha ha). Mario Kart Wii is one of the biggest selling games in history, so the new game has much to live up to. It's not unreasonable to assume that there will be reasonable amount of gamers planning to pick up a Wii U specifically for this game, so this bundle is a smart move. Nintendo are offering an exclusive pack containing the bundle, a Mario Hat, A Mario or Luigi remote, two wheels and a game guide for £299 from their online store.
In less exciting news NoE also confirmed the release of a couple of new special edition Wii Remote Plus models will go on sale the same day. The Yoshi and Peach models will join the already available Mario and Luigi editions.
