Walking Dead Season 2: First Teaser Released
Telltale Games have finally spilled their guts (or should that be brains?) on the eagerly awaited first details of The Walking Dead Season 2. The adventure game based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series was one of the most acclaimed games of last year- and with good reason. It's tense atmosphere and tough decisions put players at the very heart of the zombie outbreak, and arguably bested the AMC TV series adaptation in many regards. With Halloween just around the corner, Telltale have finally unveiled the first details about season two over on the Playstation Blog.
Again taking place over 5 episodes, they will begin to release before this year is out, concluding some time in 2014. Each episode will again be released individually initially, with a season pass available. Considering the source of the news, only PS3 and Vita releases are confirmed so far, but expect Xbox 360, PC and iOS releases at the very least. Will the Dead also shuffle onto next gen formats? So far.. we just don't know. But I wouldn't bet against it.
If you haven't played season one, I recommend you stop reading right now, as crucial details regarding the season's conclusion will follow... In other words SPOILER WARNING, continue at your own risk!
Season 2 takes place after the events of the first game, and as anyone who got to the end will know, this will mean we won't be playing as the same character. However the game's new protagonist will be rather familiar, as gamers will this time be stepping into the shoes of young Clementine. Clementine is the girl taken under the wing of Lee in the first game, but this time she'll be going it alone.
The teaser is just that.. a tease. It reveals very little but it's enough to get fans of the original slavering. Whenever that release date may be it can't come soon enough.
The same post also featured confirmation of the previously leaked Walking Dead Game Of The Year edition, featuring the entire season one plus the 400 Days DLC. Walking Dead Season One GOTY edition will be released in the US this November.
