Nintendo Gets Racist With Nicki Minaj
Every now and then you have to push the envelope and see what it gets you. Fortune favors the brave right? But is there a line you just don’t cross and did Nintendo leap over it by allowing the N-Word in Just Dance?
Her “Starships” tune is used in the game. A song that delicately ties together poetic lines like, “Jump in my hoopty hoopty hoop” and “We're higher than a motherf-ck-r”. Girls got skills, what can I say?
Thing is Wii went out of its way to censor certain four letter words and really put their Bleep sound effect into practice here, but the N-Word managed to sneak in. Weeeeird right?
Look it happens. We’re human. You can’t expect game developers to catch EVERY little hate word. But here’s where things get interesting… there’s a 30 second commercial promoting the game. Check it out below. In it, the N-Word is clearly heard.
Someone tell me how the (insert: four letter word that rhythms with duck) did Nintendo miss this?!
Naturally people are offended. Twitter finally has something to Tweet about. Nicki has another reason to support her theory that everyone is secretly out to get her. This word really does bring the society down a few degrees.
Yet, Wii is still moving forward with Just Dance a game targeted to young teens. I’m sure leaving these types of words in the game won’t impact them in any way. That’s sarcasm Nintendo. Please review the top 5 disses every gamer should use and abuse next time.
